Dosing for Powders

The correct dosing can work wonders for your wash. But remember that water hardness – and how dirty your washing is – can make a difference to the amount of detergent you need to use.

  • Pre-wash – Add an extra 100ml
  • Hand-washing – 100ml per 10 litres (1 bowlful) of water
  • When hand-washing, dissolve the powder completely
  • If you wish, you can use more for extremely heavy soil, up to a maximum of 400ml

  • Always check the article’s care label and follow washing instructions
  • We recommend using this powder in the dispenser drawer
  • Do not overload your washing machine
  • Do not use a paste of the powder and water to treat stains
  • Do not wash flame resistant fabrics in hot water i.e. above 50°C
  • For best protection of coloured articles, use Persil Colour
  • Do not use this product on silk or wool. For these fabrics we recommend Persil Silk & Wool Do not soak non-colourfast or flame resistant fabrics, leather or garments with metal fasteners
  • If you have any doubt about the colour-fastness of new coloured articles, hand-wash quickly and separately using an appropriate product
  • These instructions do not apply to the specific Handwash Powder product

  2. I keep getting red wine on the tea cloth, rather embarrassingly. What is the best way to remove the stains?

  3. I’ve just had to order a scoop because it would seem they are no longer supplied in the powder boxes, not even in the 70 wash powder that i buy. I buy the 70 wash powder because i find it more cost effective.
Too much powder in the wash could eventually clog up people’s machines, too little powder means the clothes don’t get washed properly, so can i ask please, why have you stopped putting the scoops in the powder boxes?
Would like to point out that i used to use a different detergent and have recently come back to persil because it’s better for my child’s skin. My child suffers with eczema. I love my persil soap powder just dissappointed about there not being a measuring scoop.
